About the Creator
Empower Young Voices was founded by 17-year-old writer Smera Patel, who discovered her passion for advocacy after publishing her first piece with WhyNot in November 2024. Recognising how powerful it is to feel heard. Smera is committed to helping other young people find their voice. She believes that writing should be accessible to everyone—and that confidence grows when you have the right support. Through free workshops and a platform for first-time publication, she’s created a space where young writers can build their skills, express themselves, and be proud of what they create.
